Well sure enough, it wasn’t just the magic of TV. My friend Kristin sent me an article about the Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and his coaching style. He does things differently. He calls it a kinder, gentler approach to football. He has implemented what he calls the whole person approach for his players. He provides support on and off the field. He cares about how they are coping with their life, their relationships, their emotions, and their success. He has also implemented a mind body approach to his player preparation. Sure there is weight training and sprints, but there is also meditation and yoga. There are no more in your face swearing and put downs on the field, only more positive coaching corrections. His basic philosophy is happy players make better players! The best part…it’s working! And working big!
Yea, me too. It’s REAL with our Skinny no question. It’s the whole person, not just the calories. Can’t do the body without the mind or the mind without the body. Own your power. Find your good. Give up the time worn crazy diets and the your not good enough motivation strategies that do more damage than good. Make you and your weight management fun again! It works and it works big for the long haul.
Want to read more about the Seahawks and Coach Carroll’s approach? We’ve posted the article by Alyssa Roenigk from ESPN the Magazine on our Facebook page and a link to that here. It’s a great article with lots of insight. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
