Still eating even though you’re full?

A weekly message to strengthen your CORE and develop your resolve.

“Eight parts of a full stomach sustain the man; the other two parts sustain the doctor.”
 ~ Japanese Proverb
How often do you find yourself eating, notice that you start to feel full…but keep eating? A little later those extra bites leave you feeling really uncomfortable, even miserable. Frustrated and angry, you berate yourself for overeating and promise to do better next time. Unfortunately, the next time it seems to happen all over again!
This month is all about changing this cycle. We will focus on reconnecting with our bodies’ signals of fullness and working on the skills to help you eat what you need. (That’s right, stopping when you are full!). As always, we are using a mind and body approach so that we transform our eating – and ourselves – for real!
To get started we have to unlearn what we know (the destructive pattern) so we can relearn what we need to know (the empowered pattern). Awareness is the key. So this week, pay attention to the following when you eat:
  • How and where on your body do you experience fullness?
  • What is your mental conversation while you are eating?
  • What emotions do you experience when you know it is time to stop eating?
